Baysden Chapel was founded by Rev. Johnny Howard in 1913. The church was built through donations of friends and neighbors of the community. The original church was a one-room upright building, lighted by oil lamps and heated by a wood stove. In 1954 the church was destroyed by Hurricane Hazel. Church members and the community came together to rebuild the church.
In 1959, the church became a member of the Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Conference.
Further rennovations have followed through the years. The once one-room building now offers Sunday school classrooms, a choir loft to the sanctuary, a front porch, and a fellowship hall. Outside we now have a paved parking lot and a playground for the children to enjoy.
