Our Pastor

 David F. Jarman

David grew up in Duplin County.  He is one of five children of Jerry and Polly Jarman.    In 1976 he married his childhood sweetheart Libby Smith.  In September of 1977 he joined the Army National Guard and served for 11 years.  Most people associate David with Jarman’s Welding where he has worked along side his brother Mike.  He has two children and two grandchildren.

David and his family began coming to Baysden Chapel in 1992.  During those years David took on many roles to include piano player, deacon, youth director, and adult Sunday school teacher.  In March of 2009 he became the pastor.

We are proud of our pastor and we are sure he will bless your hearts.

Come see what’s happening at Baysden Chapel!

History

Baysden Chapel was founded by Rev. Johnny Howard in 1913.  The church was built through donations of friends and neighbors of the community.  The original church was a one-room upright building, lighted by oil lamps and heated by a wood stove.  In 1954 the church was destroyed by Hurricane Hazel.  Church members and the community came together to rebuild the church.

In 1959, the church became a member of the Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Conference.

Further rennovations have followed through the years.  The once one-room building now offers Sunday school classrooms, a choir loft to the sanctuary, a front porch, and a fellowship hall.  Outside we now have a paved parking lot and a playground for the children to enjoy.
